Respect to Community Helpers |
On Wednesday 25 February the pre-primary children celebrated “Market Day”.They came dressed as community helpers to show their respect and gratitude for the people who make our living comfortable.Some came dressed as vegetable vendors, fishermen / women, farmers, carpenters, cobblers and sweepers.A market was set up in a class, where all the children in acted the roles as per the outfits they were wearing. Thus activity inculcated the feeling of gratitude towards our Community Helpers!!! |

“Jumping with the Monkeys in the Funky Monkey Land” |
The children were taken for a fun filled joyous picnic to Funky Monkey centre on Thursday 5 February 2015. They enjoyed the jumping, sliding, rocking and riding in the multi coloured child friendly structures. This enhanced and boosted the children’s confidence and physical movements in a play way manner.
The children bonded well with each other and learnt to care and share with their friends.They came back to school with happy memories !!! |

Traffic Theme Park |
A model on transport was put up in a classroom showcasing a junction, a traffic signal, a policeman, zebra crossing and different types of vehicles made from eco-friendly materials.
Children were taught the rules of road safety the importance of following the traffic signals while driving the vehicles / otherwise. As an activity the children made a collage of traffic signals in class. |

Save Energy Save our mother Earth !! |
Save water Save electricity day was marked in the Pre-primary section, creating an awareness in children to care and save our natural resources.
On this day Friday 9 January 2015 the children came dressed in blue outfits along with charts and placards.
We spread the message to avoid indiscriminate use of our resources which leads to irreversible damage to our planet “Earth”!
All of us should work together and preserve our natural resources. |

Health is Wealth!! |
Our Health and Hygiene programme, City Prep School invited a team of Dentists from “Signature Smile” to conduct a routine dental check of our pre-primary children.
The children were examined in a specially designed mobile van by the dentist and a dental check card was prepared for every child. They were explained the importance of regular brushing of teeth and how to keep their mouth clean. |

I am going to the jungle…. |
On Thursday 11 December, the pre-primary children created their own jungle in the section. The Nursery children came dressed as farm animals, the Junior and Senior kindergarten girls came dressed as birds and the boys came dressed as animals.
This activity was carried out to teach the tiny tots how to take care and safe-guard the animals. The animal species are endangered so the message has to spread to one and all - “Love the Animals”. |

Recycle, Reuse and Reduce |
Our School follows the “Green School Movement”. We encourage the children to use eco-friendly products, grow plants and make best out of waste. To promote this project further, the pre-primary children had an activity based on the theme “Save our Earth” on Friday 21 November 2014.

Swachh School Swachh Mumbai |
On Tuesday 18 November 2014, the pre-primary students had a clean-up drive activity.
Some children spread the message of “Keep your class and School clean” with pla cards around the secondary classes. Other took part in picking up bits of paper, wrappers, and other unwanted objects littered on the school ground. This activity inculcates the value and importance of cleanliness and team work. |

The wheels of the bus go round and round... |
The Preprimary children were taken to a Shantaben Bhukhanwala Joggers and Walkers Park at Juhu on Friday 10 October 2014. The children were taken by the School bus in the morning. On reaching the children were taken around the garden to see the different types of trees, plants, flowers and landscapes. They enjoyed playing with their friends on the merry go round, swings and slides. We were back to School by 12:45 p.m.

General Awareness |
A workshop was conducted for the pre-primary children of all classes on “Childline Sexual Abuse Awareness Programme” by Mrs. Binti and Mrs Matai.
Through a story the children were explained that if any person other than their parents touch/feel the child, making him/her uncomfortable; the child should immediately seek help from his/her parents or teachers. The children understood and enjoyed the play-way session. They were rightly empowered by the knowledge of “Personal Safety” |

Festive Assembly |
The preprimary section had a festive assembly on Wednesday 13 August 2014 to celebrate the festivals of the month. The children came colorfully dressed showcasing the festivals / important days of India like Independence day, Raksha bandhan, Parsi New Year and Janmasthami.
The variety of the performance by the children like singing, dancing, talk on festivals and dramatizing was a treat for all. This was a good learning experience and respect for all cultures!! |

Awareness on Traffic Rules |
A layout of a mini Traffic theme park was made in the classroom. Grey yoga mattresses were improvised to show roads, plastic cones were put as dividers on the road, a zebra crossing with a signal junction; where a Pre primary student dressed as a traffic policeman was made to stand controlling the traffic.
The important road signs and traffic instructions were marked along the road. Cars, buses, cycles and trucks were parked in the parking zone.

~*~ Yellow Day ~*~ |
On Tuesday 8 July the Preprimary section had “Yellow Day”.
Children came dressed in yellow colour outfits and brought corn based snacks to eat. Collage work of crumpling yellow crepe paper making small balls ad sticking it within the outlined corn was the activity for the children. Children were also shown yellow colour objects and toys.
The concept of the “Colour Yellow” was clear and loud by hands on learning. |

~*~ Mark of Charity ~*~ |
Monday 26 August was observed as a “Mark of Charity” day for the Pre primary students.Children were asked to bring toys to give away in charity to the under privileged children of the other schools.
This was a good experience and exposure to the children where they were explained the caring and sharing value.
Interaction between our school children and other children was brief but encouraging. |

~*~ Dental Check ~*~ |
The Pre primary children had a basic Dental Check up on Thursday 17 October conducted by a team of doctors - “Signature Smiles Clinic”. On checking each child individually a medical feedback form was given mentioning the precautionary measures to be followed to keep their teeth healthy. |

~*~ Green School ~*~ |
Our School is a Green School. The children are taught to keep their class and surroundings clean, to use eco friendly products, say no to plastic bags and grow more plants.Preprimary children came dressed in green outfits on Monday 16 September. They watered the plants and trees of our School compound. The children also made small paper bags, using old newspapers.
These activities were thoroughly enjoyed by the children and we all took a pledge to make these our ongoing activities! |

~*~ Patriotism ~*~ |
The Preprimary children celebrated Independence Day on Wednesday 14 August. Children came dressed to school in tricolour outfits. The importance of this day was explained to the children, inculcating the spirit of freedom, respect and patriotism towards our Nation. The National Anthem was sung with fervor by all. Followed by an activity in class was a part of the Independence Day celebration.

~*~ Educational Trip ~*~ |
The Junior and Senior Kindergarten children were taken for an educational trip on Friday 11 October to “Happy Planet “at Powai. The children enjoyed playing on the inflated rubber’s, child friendly structures, slides, a mini indoor garden, a doll house, a stretch out orbit and mini train. They relished the baby meal given during the trip. We were back to school at 2:00 p.m. With fond memories!
On Tuesday 15 October the Nursery children were taken for an outing to the “Millat Nagar garden”. Children walked slowly around the garden looking all around at the different types of landscapes, trees, plants, birds and butterflies.
Later they were taken to the play area where they took turns to play on the slides and merry go round. It was an enjoyable trip. It was fun filled bonding with friends. |

~*~ Pre-primary Sports Meet ~*~ |
The preprimary sports meet was held on Saturday 14 December 2013. It started with a March Past followed by a drill by the Nursery and Junior Kindergarten children.
Children were dressed as Birds or Animals in accordance to the theme of ‘Save Animals’. This was to create a sense of care and responsibility in children towards the fellow creatures who share this planet with us.
Each child was given a certificate of participation, a ball; and medals to the winners of the race.
Parents enjoyed and applauded the children’s performance. |
